Merrill Gardens at Woodstock
Merrill Gardens at Woodstock is a 3-story, 130-unit assisted living facility featuring an additional 16 units for memory care. This new building is comprised of two levels of wood-frame structure above one level of post-tensioned concrete. Hipped gables and dormers give the roof a homely feel, and asphalt shingles tie the look together. Stone veneer cladding on the first floor and fiber cement cladding on the two upper floors add to the building’s modern appearance. Some units feature decks and canopies.
JRS was an integral member of the design team, providing consultation from design development through construction documents. We also provided construction administration support by reviewing submittals and RFIs. Our regular site visits, mock-up attendance, and reviews of ongoing construction activities helped the contractor achieve the project goals. The project’s enclosure exceeds the standard for the region, providing lower maintenance needs with greater durability.
